Dental Implant
A dental implant is a treatment method that uses permanent artificial roots to replace missing teeth. These artificial roots are placed into the jawbone and integrate with the jawbone. This integration process is called “osteointegration” and ensures a stable placement of the implant. Implant surgery is the most natural and successful way to restore missing teeth. Implants give excellent results in terms of aesthetics, while at the same time restoring dental function to the patient.
In which cases can implant surgery be applied?
- In single tooth loss
- Missing more than one tooth
- In the absence of all teeth
- In cases where bridge application is not possible
How is Implant Surgery Performed?
Implant surgery can be performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia. The procedure takes approximately 30-60 minutes. During the surgical procedure, the implants are placed into the jawbone. After the procedure, the implants are allowed to integrate with the jawbone (osteointegration) for about 2-6 months. During this time, a temporary prosthesis can be used. After the integration process of the implant with the jawbone is completed, permanent prostheses are placed on the implants.
